Please postpone pay revision....


come duragapuja and its time of celebration, apart from regular joy and happines SAIL people had lot of other reasons to smile, pay revision scheduled to be finalised, gold coins and ofcourse bonus....everthing was moving as per plan with people checking and rechecking the arrears they were expecting to get, and correspondingly planning their expenses....everything looked rosy and everyone had reason to smile...
and then came the SMS...arrears finalised..E1..E2.....
it was something around 62.5 k for E1...and so smiles turned into laughter .. phones started ringing with friends asking for parties.. and we too confirming ofcourse man ...
BUT....there was a trap too... applicable only to people enrolled with SAIL till 31dec 2006....
what .. was the first word that came out...leaving everyone shocked...it cant be .. and then started enquiries..phone calls ..and ones the confirmation came.. all dreams all plans were shattered.....2nd news... bonus is all performance linked and no gold coins for 2007 onwards people...
all the laughs and happiness of trainees hostel suddenly vanished...and these were sufficient reasons to stop smiling..
the charm of puja was found missing people thinking that why management is doing all this, why the batch should suffer...
with officer association requesting us to wait and watch till pay revision is finalised., and assuring that we will do something for your arrears and gold coins... everyone was trying to do something for solution. a small ray of hope came by announcement of 7000 arrears for 2007 batch with gold coins under consideration...the batch is all at sea about their future and their stay in company.
from the initial picture of pay revision, things are not at all bright rather we will not be getting much benefit out of it unless management gives us additional increment after revision , and the wide gap between the scale of our immediate batch is sufficient reason to demotivate us.
so its time for all the 2007 batch people to come together and request the management to give it a thought and do something for us to. your suggestion are requested with how we can go for it....please come together for change .. before its too late....

  1. The main motive behind pay revesion was to shorten the gap between Private Sector & Public sector and to retain talent. The gap has widened and talent is feeling cheated , neglected & betrayed . The
    world has changed for those who have joined after Jan 2007 as if they have commited some heinous crime.If there is so much politics at the starting point of our career what will happen later .The future seems gloomy and tardy.
    So who's the culprit? JuniorManagers , Officer association or higher management ? Actually there is a huge communication gap between those who writes our destiny in a closed AC room tossing and claiming 60% - 100% rise and those front line executives working on shop floor trying to get the things done with their clothes soiled in grease and soul sored with attitude and work culture of people around them. Its high time to fight for our rights and convey the same to higher authorities...People who want to make their empire on the grave of front line executives must be tamed.
